Rachael Vradis
Rachael grew up in Cork and began her design journey studying Interior Architecture at Waterford Institute of Technology, before qualifying as a Chartered Architect at the University of Westminster in London. With over 10 years of industry experience, she has worked in a leading architecture studio in Cork, Ireland and several high-end residential practices in London, contributing to complex refurbishments, premium extensions and luxury interior-led projects.
Since founding Nua, Rachael has grown the studio into a thriving, design-led practice known for its creativity, warmth and meticulous attention to detail. Her expertise spans concept design, planning strategy, reconfigurations, spatial flow, interior architecture, heritage-sensitive design, client presentations, and guiding homeowners through the full architectural process.
As Nua’s client-care lead, Rachael ensures every project feels personal, inspiring and well supported from day one. Outside of work she loves travelling, exploring new cities, and spending time with Chris and their son.
Director & Operations Lead
Chris Vradis
Chris began his career in education after graduating, working his way from classroom teacher to headteacher, where he developed a strong talent for leadership, communication and supporting young people. Today he manages the operational and client-care side of Nua, ensuring the practice runs smoothly and each client receives a thoughtful, responsive experience.
Alongside this, Chris is also a children’s life and confidence coach, helping young people who are struggling with school, anxiety or motivation. Outside of work he loves travelling, skiing and climbing and most of all, spending time with Rachael and their son.
Our Story
Nua began in 2021 when Rachael launched the practice as a sole trader under the name RKDS. What started as a small design studio quickly grew into a clear mission: to make architecture and house design simple, supportive and accessible for everyday homeowners.
Rachael’s vision has always been to remove the sense of intimidation that can come with hiring an architect. She focuses on helping families feel guided, understood and excited about transforming their homes.
As the practice grew, Chris joined the business, bringing his strengths in leadership, organisation and calm, people-focused support. Together we now run Nua as a family team. We combine high-quality residential architecture with interior-led house design and a warm, personal client experience. We specialise in home extensions, reconfigurations and planning uplift strategies, creating homes that feel beautifully designed, functional and effortless to live in.
